Mechanism of Action

Specifically: It binds to GABA receptor sites and glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCl). This blocks the influx of chloride ions, which normally serve to inhibit nerve impulses. The result is uncontrolled neuronal firing, leading to hyperexcitation, paralysis, and eventual death of the insect.
