Boscalid is a systemic fungicide belonging to the carboxamide class (SDHI – Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitor). It acts by inhibiting fungal respiration, particularly the complex II of the mitochondrial electron transport chain. This leads to energy deprivation and fungal death, making it effective against a wide range of ascomycete and basidiomycete pathogens. Boscalid is especially valued for its residual control, activity against resistant strains, and combination use with strobilurin or triazole fungicides. Boscalid is QoIs/DMIs Solo fungicide and co-formulant.
